Introduction

Gloria Luna Corneliusen always dreamed in vivid colors. Many time she woke up in the morning with words echoing in her thoughts. The words made sense & were like music to her that was full of longing & emotion. As the day wore on the words faded & could not be recalled no matter how hard she tried. Even the gist of the dream words were lost. Eventually she decided to write them down, grabbing whatever was handy to write on or with. At the age of 13, a very low point in her life, she destroyed all her written words.
The poems now are about significant events that happen in her life from the age of 4 on. Not all of them are pretty. None rhyme. They have been written as a legacy to her 4 children. The painting were started as an attempt to illustrate the emotion behind the word. Unfortunately this proved harder then she had reckoned with. Then she got sidetracked painting flowers, rocks & trees (one of her other passions). Even though these paintings started as an aside, they too reflect her personality with their simplicity & vitality. Her paintings are bold, loud, full of color & life. A mirror of the places she’s seen and felt a part of.
She is a self-taught painter, “techniques & rules, be damn”. Her art instruction consisted of how to mix the colors & what brushes to buy. Often she doesn’t even bother with a brush. She paints only as an expression of her inner-self, & feels creativity is lost when there are rules to follow.
Gloria is married and has 4 children. She is Hispanic and was raised in the Rio Grande Valley, TX. She now resides in Ireland.
