The Erosion of Man
by Gloria L. Corneliusen
Man as a mountain
immovable, impassible, just plain obstinate.
A pig-headed mule.
Man like a mountain
strong, powerful, virtually indestructible.
A permanent fixture.
Man is a mountain
full of life
from craggy cliffs to hot molten core.
Man, THE MOUNTAIN
Possessor of the highest peaks,
Protector of the greenest valleys.
Man once a mountain
Eroded away by modern society
Until there was just dirt.
Man, a dying hillock.
Replenishes the earth
With his last remaining seeds.
